How we started
Stone Age Industries was founded in 1985, and ads were placed in Lapidary Journal and Rock and Gem magazines to advertise our products. We are now online with our semi-precious gemstone rough, slabs, cabochons, fossils, fossil slabs, gifts, crystals, minerals, and are dealers for a number of reputable equipment manufacturers and lapidary suppliers. Most of the lapidary equipment has been given or will be discounted from the manufacturers retail price, from outstanding manufacturers such as Covington Engineering Corp., MK Diamond Products, Thumler's Tumblers, Diamond Pacific Tool Corp., Estwing Manufacturing Products, and Rociprolap, (now owned by Covington Engineering Corp.) Lapidary articles on basic instruction are listed under the category, Lapidary Tips, a popular feature for some basic information working with rocks, such as how to tumble, how to lap, and much more. For payment of your order, we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover Cards, UionPay, & money orders and checks, if you reside in the U.S.A. or Canada. We also accept PayPal payments, which accepts a variety of payments such as American Express, Discover card, MasterCard, Visa, and checking account withdrawal. It is your responsibility to notify PayPal to make a payment for the order. When you have set up an account with PayPal, you are able to shop many online stores without giving a multitude of stores your credit card information. After your PayPal account is set up, open your PayPal account and click on "Send Money", and type in our business e-mail stoneage@tritel.net, and the amount of the order. PayPal will notify us when approval is made, usually within a few minutes or hours, and your order will be shipped that day or the next. Shipping is Monday through Friday. If using a U.S.A. check for payment of your order, it may take a week to ten days to clear before your order can be shipped. Orders from most foreign countries need to send a bank wire transfer for payment of the order. Please inquire by e-mail and the payment amount with shipping charges can be totaled for approval. We are normally mail order only, but if you would like to visit the shop, please call to make an appointment. We are opened Monday through Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. if an appointment is made in advance. Stone Age Industries is a member of the Powell Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for visiting the web site and hope you find items of interest. We look forward to being of service.

Ordering and clarification:
When an order of one is placed in the Shopping Cart, under Rough Rocks for Cabbing, this is usually an order of one pound. A few rough items are sold and listed by one ounce and they will be stated in the description of the product. If you want a five pound chunk of rock instead of five pounds of assorted sizes, clarify the order via e-mail or phone call if needed. We'll do our best to fill your order as preferred. Please do so promptly, since orders go out as soon as possible. In regards to ordering slabs, slabs are cut from various sizes of rough and when ordering one slab, one slab order will contain five, one inch square minimum, approximately, such as 1" x 5" or any such combination as to make 5". If you order two, you may get one slab with seven square inches and one slab with three square inches or one slab with 10 square inches or any combination to make the 10 square inches. Here again, if you need a certain size, let us know. The pictures of the rough and slabs for the most part are samples of the material you will receive, not the actual rough or slab, although some are sold as pictured, for example fire agate freeform cabochons, fossil multiplates, etc. are listed as one only. We have literally tons of material and thousands upon thousands of slabs and cannot possibly make a web page for each item. We look forward to sending an order you will be satified with, but returns are accepted, if returned as shipped. No highgrading of material is allowed. Just pay for the return freight with insurance in case the package is lost or pilfered. You may exchange the items or request a refund. A 10% restocking fee is charged if the items are returned for credit only. Please note in regards to the handling fee on an order: the handling fee will either be $2.50 or $5.00 per box, no matter how many items are in the order. Sorry the web host does not have an option of various handling fee charges per freight choice. If you have noted a handling fee of $5.00 and a small dollar amount was listed on the receipt, you may find your handling fee changed to only $2.50 when the item is shipped. Thank you and hope we may be of service.
