A 2" back plate is shown behind the sanding belt, but a 4" high back plate is available at an additional cost of 19.50. COVINGTON BELT SANDERS POLISHERS FEATURES: unobstructed access to sanding work area; quick change belt system; adjustable backup plate; sands flat surfaces vertically with up to a 13" high back plate on some units; upright bearing support casting mounted on a heavy aluminum tank base or a heavy 16 gauge powder coated steel tank base; single control alignment to keep belt running true; shielded bearings, double sealed and greased for life; delivery sponge for applying water to belt; operating instructions and guarantee.
