Garnet for tumbling is a great filler for use as a tumbling media. (Stock 126) The dark pyrope garnet from Brazil has approximately 200 pieces per pound and is priced at $6.00 per pound. The size of the garnet will vary but probably average 1/4" per piece. Try using some of the larger garnet for making small cabochons.
