The rough mook or mookaite jasper from Australia is predominately colored reddish rose but may also include tan, cream, white and or yellow jasper. One order of rough mook jasper is one pound. Take a look at the beautiful cabochon of mook jasper (category CABOCHONS) to get an idea of the colors. Sizes usually range from 1 to 8 pounds each, but a few larger sizes are available. Note: if you try to break up this or any other high quality dense chalcedony for tumbling, it is best to slab in approximate thickness wanted and then break the slabs with a hammer and chisel.
