$7.00

Crafton Hills rhodonite from Mentone, CA is a beautiful stone. (Stock 634) This is the best from this classic location. Crafton Hills rhodonite will be light pink with black spider web patterns (dendrites),or sometimes a few black splotches with black to gray, yellow garnet and white quartz. Rhodonite works well for bookends, spheres, eggs, jewelry, jewelry boxes, tumbling or try carving. Approximate hardness is 5.5-6. Sizes of the rough are from 1/2 pound to large size 30 pounds each. The rough exterior of rhodonite usually has a black manganese coating due to weathering. Chip an edge and the beautiful pink color of Crafton Hills will be exposed. Crafton Hills rhodonite will take a nice polish, especially when cabbing with the use of all diamond procedures. Some diamond grind up to 50,000 and are extremely pleased that the dendrites do not undercut. Price is listed for $7.00 per pound. See a sample slab of Crafton Hills rhodonite.
