Green rutilated quartz from India will have green acicular needles in milky colored quartz. (Stock 260) Rutilated quartz is an interesting rare stone where inclusions of glistening needles of rutile or other minerals are entombed as the quartz crystals grow. The size of the specimen grade rough of rutilated quartz will be from one half to fifteen pounds or more and sells for $2.50 per pound. The green needles are thought to be actinolite.
