Silver lace onyx from the Calico Mtns. out of Barstow, CA is a rare, classic onyx with bands of white and gray/black and amber/yellow with black dendrites, some resembling minature trees. (Stock 573) Silver lace onyx rough is unlikely to be dug again due to its inaccessability. It was initally discovered by a member of our family (Lucille Burns McShan Coke) and was assayed and discovered to contain silver. Sizes run from 1-25 pounds each plus a few larger rough chunks. Silver lace onyx will take a nice polish and is used for making cabochons and jewelry, clock faces, bookends, spheres, tumbling, etc. An order of one is for one pound of silver lace onyx rough. See a sample slab or a sample cabochon of silver lace onyx.
