The Tanto knife by Adrian Prodescu, from Romania was judged to be the winning entry as the Shop Friend of the Month for May 2008. Congratulations to Adrian for his outstanding project! Adrian wrote the following: "I am from Romania and my hobby is all what is rock related: rock-hunting, cabbing, tumbling, slab polishing and so on. My favorite rock is petrified wood, as I find it so fascinating and so unique. Some weeks ago I started to work at a knife and now it is ready. The handle is made from using four pieces of petrified wood from around the world: Romania, Greece, Australia and USA." Thank you for your entry Adrian! The tanto knife is a great knife and one to be proud of! Adrian says information regarding tanto knives can be found on the web, but basically they are common Japanese daggers with a single or occasionally double edge.
